MANIA, MABASSA

“Manias” are the daily habits, the repeated gestures of one’s life.
I wanted to highlight life’s details, make people notice the way they position their hand on the table or how they always give the pepper mill 3 turns when they make their salad sauce. I want them to go to a diner and be unable to focus on the discussion because they caught how one's lipstick smudged further than it should on the upper lip. I want them to wonder whether that lipstick smudge makes them fonder of the person or irritated by them. Those details, when you notice them are enhancers and one way or the other, you cannot feel neutrally about them.
